I want to remind you of something that is very important and really quite amazing…there is only one you.  Do you know this?  There is only one person who looks like you, acts like you and has your special gifts and talents; no one else.

Many of us forget this important fact and find ourselves trying to be anything but our true selves.  How often have you tried to emulate or copy someone else?  Whether it is someone you saw in a movie, a co-worker you admire, or a sports celebrity.  We have all done this.  It’s ok to look to find improvement in things about ourselves and to aspire to be the best that you can be by modeling after someone living authentically, but please remember who you truly are and don’t try to be someone who you aren’t.  Your true happiness and fulfillment depend on it.

Today we have advertising coming at us from many different avenues and angles. Unfortunately this advertising is targeted at making us feel like we are less than perfect.  It is basically saying we need to buy a product to be something better than we already are.  There are products that can help us lead more comfortable, enjoyable lives; but please don’t think you aren’t perfect and whole right now!  Believe in your gifts, follow them and let them flourish.

I am reminded of a very powerful quote I heard Wayne Dyer share one time.  He said, “don’t ever die with your music still in you.”  I have kept that bit of wisdom close to my heart always.  I want to be the best that I can be and take advantage of all of the gifts that I have been given.  I certainly don’t want to die with my music still in me.  I want to share it.  I want the same for all of you as well.  Please remember, there is only one you.  Honor those around you and honor yourself by being your own special self.  Please don’t try to be someone who you aren’t.  Don’t die with your music still inside of you.
